Shalom and welcome to Jewish Crete! This tour combines some of the most remarkable sightseeing with the Jewish heritage of the island. This tour is guided by Joseph who comes from the ancient and remarkable Romaniote Jewish community and has plenty of vivid stories at hand. Joseph splits his time between Heraklion and Athens and is available only upon previous request. Some of the sites this tours includes are following:
- A visit the Etz Hayyim Synagogue in Hania - a unique little Romaniote synagogue in the old town's former Jewish quarter, which dates from the 14th century
- A walk in the Jewish Quarter of Chania old town called Evraki and experience the vibe of its past and present
- A visit of the War Cemetery which includes four graves of Jewish soldiers killed in WWII and the Konaki Restaurant in Hania, which is on the site of Beth Shalom Synagogue, destroyed in WWII
